How hot should the motors get?
Just as the subject says I am curious how hot they should be getting?
I've noticed they get quite hot, the extruder motor especially I imagine due to how much it runs. T
They dont get so hot that they are uncomfortable to touch but I am currious if I should be worried about 3d parts warping during really long prints?
Re: How hot should the motors get?
It’s normal to be hot to the touch. After an hour or more of printing pla I see mine at 44C and the bondtech gears get to 37C. Some people get really hot and that heat creeps to the bondtech gears warming up the filament and creating clogs. If you can leave your hand on the motor then it’s ok.
Re: How hot should the motors get?
ejberg, is that a measurement from the side? The sides and top of my extruder get to 47C while the front gets to 44C.
Re: How hot should the motors get?
Yes, that is taken from the left side, as that was where the highest temperature was.
