hotend thermistor 475kΩ broken?

Everything I tried to print recently on my I3/mk3S has come out *FURRY*  and now I'm getting a mintemp error.

I've previously had a few "blob" events, so I think the chaos monkey finally caught up to me and ate a thermistor.

I disconnected the hotend thermistor from the Einsy and did some measurements.

I stuck a pair of sewing needles thru the leads (up near the "can"), and the wires from the plug to the thermistor get perfect continuity on each (no metal fatigue/broken wire).

Then I measured 475kΩ across the leads right at the device (this page says the normal resistance on the hotend thermistor is 80-125 kΩ): troubleshooting/multimeter

I've ordered a new hotend thermistor from matterhackers.com.

What do you think - am I right?

RE: hotend thermistor 475kΩ broken?

If you ordered a 100K semitec, cartridge thermistor, you probably have the right replacement...

the table above, from the e3D website suggests that 475K ohms is indicating below 0 degrees celcius,
and the printer won't work below 15 celcius
