Hotend only partially heating
One of our MK3's had the wires pulled out of the heater block, so I inhereted the job of replacing the heater, thermistor, Hotend, and Heat break.
After replacing, I found it would heat pretty slowly, and only reach about 140C. I checked the screw on the heater and even added a bit of thermal paste. It heated up then, but the PTFE tube was not right, so I replaced that and tightened down a loose feed roller in the extruder.
After that it wasn't heating good again. It goes ok for a little bit, then slows down at about 100-100C, topping out at about 145C before failing.
The heater light comes on. I measured voltage at the pins and they read 24VDC exactly.
I don't know how to troubleshoot between the brand new heater or the motherboard. I feel like it's got to be one of them. I tried calibrating the PID but it won't finish due to not heating enough.
RE: Hotend only partially heating
I would try another heater. It is the cheapest thing to try.

RE: Hotend only partially heating
Thank you. Someone in our company actually had ordered some replacement parts, and I was able to test a new hotend assembly this morning and it heated up quickly. I will install and hopefully be good to go shortly.
Just in time to print parts for the MK3S+ upgrade kits that are coming in...
