Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
I recently upgraded my hotend to a revo 6 because my old one was starting to get impossible to clean. After installing I ran a print and came back to it being half finished because of thermal runaway in the hotend. Doing some probing I noticed that sometimes that the hotend doesnt receive any voltage from the board and the LED attached to it on the board doesn't light up either. My theory is that the mosfet or whatever controls the voltage is overheating so that when I turn the printer off and go to check the cables it has enough time to cool down to heat the nozzle for a short amount of time. This graph is from an initial print after leaving the printer off for the night. Is there anything else that would do something similar or do I now just need to point a fan at my control box.
RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
If you have the old one you could always try that and if it still does with the old one if printer is under warranty contact support though live chat as could be something on the board that's faluty

RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
The old one doesnt work because the thermistor is damaged and the printer is about 4-5 years old.
RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
Oh ok I don't see how anything would over heat heaps of people make thses kind of mods

RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
I didnt think it would be a problem either. But nothing else explains why it prints longer when left off for awhile, and can heat the hotend but drop voltage.
RE:
maybe try put a fan on it but if it keeps doing it then could be dangerous so if fan doesn't work i would just replace the board rather then risk it. any chance you can post photo of board so i can have a good look at it and maybe downgrade firmware and do factory reset

RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
I'll try and reset firmware first as I dont have fan laying around to use and my wiring isnt tidy enough to see the board so I'd need to take it out.
RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
So some things have happened. I believe the issue with the hot end is gone but updating and resetting the printer has caused other issues. I started to get issues with starting prints with octoprint. Starting prints initially causes "Printer sent 'start' while printing. External reset? Aborting job since printer lost state." Then I tried reflashing the same firmware only for the reflash to fail and now it looks like my printer is having a seizure.
RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
What firmware are you on I believe there is an issue with the newest firmware where some printers do that and don't boot try down grade firmware

If that all fails press the button on the top of Rambo next to the USB port to update it

RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
Im currently using the latest version which is 3.11.0 ill try downgrading
RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
downgrading the firmware fixed the issue however octoprint is still not playing nicely with the printer. When I start a print for the first time it says that the printer was reset when it wasnt and then printing again allows it to print but then it randomly shuts down mid print.

RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
Have you tried a different USB cable? What kind of system (hardware/OS) is running octoprint?
RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
I tried running the printer with just an SD card and no raspberry pi plugged in and it still did the same thing. not sure what it is.
RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
I'm wondering wether it something to do with power panic try unplug power panic cable

I unplugged the power panic and it still didnt work. Ive also noticed that something weird is happening to my screenIMG_0339
RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
Before this starting happening did you touch the einsy

RE: Hotend does not receive voltage after printing for some time
If you touch einsy or lcd without discharging yourself you can send electric static to the lcd witch can travel to the board or static electricity streight onto the board Wich can mess some things up some of us touch top screw of the PSU Wich is grounded.thats why they always say hold board by sides
