Hot End Block covered in filament?

Does anyone have tips for how to remove the nozzle and the heating element from the block if they're both covered in filament? I'm finding they're both almost impossible to turn and what would be recommended in this scenario?

previously molten filament is an excellent adhesive, when cold.
you need to disassemble these parts when hot.
if the heater and thermistor are still working, use them to heat the components, otherwise, use a blow torch oe put the parts in the oven to heat them, and use pliers to hold them during disassembly.
