hot bed fail on self test

hi all, i'm struggling to find out why the heat bed only comes on for a few seconds the the red indicator light goes off and i get a fail. I haven't used a multi-meter much before this but i followed the steps in the help section and i got a reading of 3.9 on continuity and a very quick reading of 25 when the printer was turned on. I tried to get a reading from the cable with h on it but it didn't show anything at all. I'm hoping that all i need to do is replace this.

I forgot to mention this all started when i had to re-route some wires on the hot end which were stopping the y axis from travelling all the way along the axis. any help would be greatly appreciated.

check out continuity of the individual  heat bed wires between the heat bed terminals and the Einsy board...., then move the Y axis and check again...

these wires sometimes break! internally due to flexing

regards Joan

FYI: you can't measure continuity when power is on.  Terms you should do a little reading on are OHMS VOLTS and AMPS.  A very basic understanding of these terms will go a long way in trouble shooting problems like this.  Continuity is a vague term that can be interpreted too many ways: generally meaning "do these two things have some connectivity between them through which electricity can flow."  which by itself isn't really helpful to know.

Turn things off, disconnect the two bed wires at the Einsy end (leave the bed end connected) - measure the resistance between the two disconnected wires.  The bed and wires should measure about 4 ohms.
