Help Identifying Component

Hello,

I need help identifying a failure on my mainboard. It is causing my temperature on my hotend to rise without being tracked by the thermistor.  I tried to take a picture of the blown part here:

The blown area is right above the thermistor connector. Looks like it connects to pin 1 on U8? possibly a resistor? I went through tthe PCB docs and the V1.1 that are downloadable do not seem to have the part at all.

Would love to try and replace whats broke instead of having to buy a full new board. Any help would be appreciated!

RE: Help Identifying Component

Without a better view its very hard to identify it, even on close up.  It could be a resistor, capactor, inductor, fuse and could all look alike, particularly from this view.  The question is,, What caused it to blow and does that problem still exist even after replacing it? I someone has a board out and can give me any identifying numbers on it, I can probably identify it for you. I do microsoldering and circuit board repairs all the time, components like that usually don't die in their own, unless a tantalum capacitor. My printer is tied up printing a big project or Id look myself.

Get a new board, identify the component, replace it, watch it blow again, cause it likely will, then toss the board into the junk parts bin. Meanwhile you can still be printing. MTCW.

Thanks for the reply! I actually can handle the soldering I just dont have a microscope on hand. I cant figure out the part as there is no ID on the board and the schematics/board from the github dont match with that part. I would prefer not buying a new board just to blow a tiny part again but I am also thinking that might be my only path forward.

I cannot print with this board. The printer goes into M112 when i use it and the hot end starts boiling plastic.

RE: Help Identifying Component

I'm sorry I can't help.  Between prints I tried to check on my board, but I can't get close enough to identify the component without taking out the board, which I can't do right now, sorry.
