Help! Bad print

Anyone know what might be causing this?  PETG with standard Prusa Slicer settings.  As you can see, it printed fine for the first 90%.  There's a clicking sound that seems to come from the feed wheel.  Adjusting tension doesn't help.

Thanks in advance for any hints!

RE: Help! Bad print

It looks like it started under extruding, the clicking sound means it can't feed the filament through to the nozzle.  If you unload and have a look at the filament it will likely have marks impressed on it from the bond tech gears where its been grabbing it but not moving it.

Cause is likely a blocked nozzle, have a search for a video on how to do a "cold pull" in order to clear it.  You may need to repeat the cold pull a few times.

Another possibility is if you are printing in an enclosure the environment temperature is too hot but for PETG that'd probably need to be in the mid to high 30C or hotter.  If you think this the case then do a cold pull and leave the cabinet door open next print.

Poorly sized cheap filament might cause feed problems and consequent blockage but seems unlikely since it happened only at the top of the print and the bottom part looks good.

Setting the tension is important once you've done the cold pull, a reminder here video here:

@lize

Thanks very much, Lize!  I’ll try the cold pull.
