Help after lightning strike
Hello. Long time mk3 user.
I unfortunately had a lightning strike recently that smoked my PC's motherboard. I've replaced the board and rebuilt the computer - it runs great. Today I realized that my mk3 was connected to the PC during the strike. I can print from the SD card with no problem, so the printer itself is fine. However, I can't connect to the printer over USB. Here's what I've tried:
- installed USB driver, pronterface, and PrusaSlicer using windows install package
- verified the USB port on new PC i'm using works
- printed from SD card - printer is fine
- used a USB tool to see what's connected - the printer isn't
- checked PORTS tab of device manager for printer - it's not there
I can't detect the printer, and have manually tried typing in COM1- COM10 in Pronterface.
Any help or suggestions? Can I validate the USB controller is working?
Edit to add: When I try to connect to any COM port in Pronterface, I get this error:
Connecting...
[ERROR] Could not connect to COM1 at baudrate 115200:
Serial error: could not open port COM1: [Error 2] The system cannot find the file specified.
RE: Help after lightning strike
Anyone? No way to troubleshoot this?
It's a bit beyond forum assistance.
