Heating issues - Thermal Run Away massive fluctuations in temp
Hi there and thank you for taking the time to read my post first off.
I bought this MK3 second hand and for the most part I love it. It is my work horse printer and has been a treat to work with over other printers I currently have, but lately I have been having some issues with it regarding thermal runaways and other temp related problems. The biggest issue is that they are intermittent but frequent issues. So sometimes it prints fine some times its a wash.
Now I suspect it has to do with an upgrade I gave the printer after a massive user error that lead to me needing to buy a new hot end/ thermistor. I replaced it with a Dragon hot end as it was a bit more solid and looked like a drop in replacement. But now I am seeing some massive temperature fluctuations leading to thermal runaways.
I am wondering if it is the heater cart or the thermistor that is the issue?

Did you get the correct voltage heater?
you need a 24 volt heater for the Mk3 and Mk3S printer...
is the thermistor a Semitec 100Kohm type?
are all of the connections firm?
did you do a PID calibration? after installing the new equipment?

Still using the stock one that came with the printer, and the issue is intermittent which makes it extra weird.
are all of the connections firm?
Double checked that the thermistor is seated well an firmly plugged in, will have to check the cartridge asap too, but it looked firm last I checked.
did you do a PID calibration? after installing the new equipment?
Yup, should I do one before every print just to be safe?
