Having trouble diagnosing, I think filament sticking to nozzle, maybe uneven extrusion?

I find I have trouble printing more with some Prusament colors than others.

Here are a couple of pictures of the current print I'm trying to do:

I've flashed the firmware to the latest version, cleaned the heat bed with dish soap and warm water and a paper towel, and tried re-calibrating the first layer z-offset. But my eyes and experience aren't good enough to really tell what's causing the issue.

I would really appreciate any help! Thanks so much!

Show us your first layer Z calibration print.  I suspect you are not low enough.  Upload pictures direct BTW, imgur makes it hard to scale detail.

Cheerio,

You were absolutely right, I had to squish it down way more than I thought. I was so cautious of scraping the place, but I went slowly and watched the shape. (I think the filament also looking a little translucent made me think I was about to hit plate!)

And thanks for the tip, I'll direct upload pictures next time.

Thank you!

You're not alone. It's a common mistake — most of the first layer calibration issues discussed here are ultimately caused by the nozzle not being close enough to the bed rather than being too close.

Poor adhesion

It is so common.  I always tell people that the top two reasons for poor adhesion:

  1. Incorrect Z offset or live Z
  2. Dirty bed
