Ghost images of previous prints on powder coated bed

Hi all,

I have a question about the powder coated sheet. After a print today the powder coated sheet I noticed the outlines of some previous prints I made. It seems like a whitish haze. No structural damage to the sheet as far as I can see.

I first noticed the pattern after I had to bend (only slightly) the powder coated bed for the first time to release a print.
By the looks of the patterns it is everything since I performed the first layer calibration again, positioning the nozzle a bit closer to the surface to increase adhesion of the first layer.

My candidate list of things that might have this effect on the bed:

  • Cleaning bed when it is still hot (>55C)
  • Bending the bed to release prints
  • Nozzle distance to the bed (it is not touching as far as I can tell, but it is quite close)
  • Using 70% iso-propyl alchohol instead of 90%, leaving some kind of deposit

I have the feeling that it is some kind of deposit that now gets picked up by the print as the adhesion is stronger than before the first layer calibration.

Has anyone seen this before and/or knows what it is caused by?

Thanks!

Marcel

Printer/print info:

  • MK3S
  • PrusaSlicer 2.1.0
  • Prusament PLA (the one that came with the printer),
  • Bedtemp 60C, nozzle temp 210C (default for PLA in PrusaSlicer)
