Gears do not transport filament anymore/losing grip
Hello all,
I face an issue with the i3 MK3. The gears appear to loose grip on the filament. I opend the side cover and removed some rust with the airgun. I reassambled everything and it worked well for about 45 Minutes and stopped extruding one more time.
Images of an inside view and the filament after removal are attached.
I will now try to change the setup of the filament spool and test again.
If you have any idea, please help me.
All the best,
Tim

To add to what toaf suggested....
This Prusa video has good info on setting extruder gear tension:
The Knowledge base has good info on the extruder gears under maintenance and printing sections. https://help.prusa3d.com/l/en

Re: Gears do not transport filament anymore/losing grip
have you done any work to the heat break/nozzle replacement. you could have an issue with the PTFE tube going into the nozzle. if it collapsed/pinched then the filament will have a hard time making the way to the heated area of the extruder and it gets stuck while the pulley is attempting to push it down into some kind of blockage.
you might want to turn the temperature way up on the nozzle while pushing the filament through and see if the same problem occurs.
after that you might want to start taking the extruder apart and confirm from the spool to the pulley there is no issue then from the pulley to the nozzle there is no issue.
