My patch should be fixing that as well. I haven't tested that, but I can when I'm home again.

Just in case anyone would trust me enough to hazard flashing the patched firmware onto their printer to test, here is a built firmware image with the M0/M1/M117 fixes, based on latest Prusa git version as of today.

Thanks. I'm busy enough that I won't have time to test it. It would be nice to see a fix for an official firmware release.

Here's a firmware with the patch on top of 3.7.1. Of course, getting it into a Prusa release will take some time, the pull request needs to be reviewed and accepted first. But at this point I've done all I could to make it happen.

Thanks for the debugging Vojtech, this will be useful, I can't test at the moment as I have my printer in bits (again), replacing the LCD, high temperature silicone on the magnets to stop them falling out, JLTX Y axis (Taurus) replacement of standard PRUSA design, learning fusion 360 as of this morning etc etc etc and still having to go to work!. Debating whether to insulate the underside of the heated bed...

1. Buy a bare steel sheet, some 468MP adhesive, a 0.2mm or 0.5mm Garolite sheet, and make yourself your own garolite flex sheet. Or buy one pre-made.

That is fantastic.  Thanks for sharing.  I have been looking for one for months.  

I cannot vouch for quality or fitness for purpose of the pre-made one, though, I have made one for myself from the Aliexpress parts.

I will order and test one.  

Very interested to hear your results.

Also in regard to the issues being discussed is this only a problem because  the  garolite sheet has been added to the PEI and is now too thick. If so does anyone know the thickness of the prefabricated garolite and would this then no longer be an issue.

Quick follow-up on the M117 issue: It seems to be working under 3.7.1-226 firmware... which is odd. Messages print successfully, but are often over-written by status messages, particularly any commands that wait for temps (PINDA, nozzle or bed). I've interspersed M117s throughout my start and end gcode and it's now working well. I'm... not exactly sure why all the sudden. I haven't updated recently.

I also ordered one of the garolite sheets off Etsy. Seems nice enough, though I haven't tried a print on it yet.

Doh. It works when using Octoprint. Very useful there at least.

hello, where did you get that garolite sheet? I just couldnt find anyone selling garolite that is not 1+ squaremeters...

I bought the garolite (textite) sheets cut to size locally at elektroizolanty.cz. The website is Czech only, but perhaps google translate will fix that for you.

i measure the matterhackers  supplied layerlock garolite build surface MEW30JUG with the "steel sheet that came with the printer" with some mitotuyo calipers.   it came out to 1.59mm

by itself the steel sheet that came with the printer came in at 1.18mm  means the garolite added 0.500

i just got my printer and tried over and over to print the flat batman model from the SD card.  kept slipping and printing junk.

then i took the printer to my garage for safety reasons ( i dont know what kind of fumes are coming out of the PLA )

it was so cold ( new york november ) that the printer wouldnt start

i had to put a space heater inside my custom build case

once the printer started i played around with different glue sticks and hatch patterns, nothing worked.

i was printing at -0.500 on the steel bed.

then i upped the bed temperature to 80 i guess to account for ambient temperature strain ,  i saw some improvements but still half the batman sucked

i added the garolite and left the offset at -0.500, i left the bed at 80

batman came out perfect.

this is with PLA.   if you are doing nylon then you want to play the same game i guess.  make sure your bed is 20% warmer than whatever the experts are saying.
