Fusion360 STL file being imported with wrong units into Prusaslicer

I made a project in F360 with the dimensions set to inches.  I then exported the file as STL to my desktop.  When I import it into Prusaslicer it is coming in as 5.5mm rather than 5.5 inches so the object is tiny.

What am I doing wrong?

Slicer is metric so its in millimetres.

To get them to size correctly when imported into PrusaSlicer, set your default unit preference to millimeters in Fusion 260.

So I can't do any design work in SAE units in F360?

I know this isn't Fusion support but there must be a way to take something that was done in standard units and convert it after the fact. I wonder if I go to the drawing and change the units to metric if F360 will simply convert it?

All part of the learning process for me.

I got some information off of Google that seems to have solved this issue.  In F360 there are two ways to export the drawing to an .stl file

You can use File > 3D print and get an .stl file that way, which is what I was doing.

Another is File > Export and then choose .stl,  you then get a message and a dialog box that it will be processed on the cloud and then saved to your chosen location.  I just did this option and when I load that file into PS it comes in at the proper size

I also learned that I can change the units after the fact for the drawing in F360 and it will convert the drawing between standard and metric units.  If i do that then the File > 3D print option works correctly as well.

The internet was good to me tonight...and I don't have to buy new calipers 🙂

Scale it by 2540% in Prusaslicer. 🙂
