RE: Fusion 360 export
I might just do that, but want to wait until discussion over there at autodesk is complete. Maybe they can drill into and find the bug/feature if there is one. I probably dug a hole on install going down the path of team collaboration. The app won't let me save my loaded STL to the local machine, it doesn't give that as an option, which is really weird. I can only save it in the "hub." That seems really silly. So, maybe a re-install and not taking that collaborative option will make my experience more main stream. Thanks again.

RE: Fusion 360 export
Somebody over there just wrote, "Fusion is designed to save to the cloud, if you don't want that some things just will not work. You have the option to Export, export to f3d will save a native fusion design to your hard drive but you will not be able to create 2d drawing this way or distributed designs (assembly designs with links to other designs). You are not missing anything with your install or how you installed, Fusion's just designed to work with cloud storage."
Tell me that's not true! Could be he has only ever used this collaborative install.
RE: Fusion 360 export
Well, it's true. Sorta. Yes, primary storage of a model is in the cloud. But models can be cached locally, or you can save an f3d file locally or export into other file formats locally. Doesn't address why you're not seeing the save as mesh option. Now as I said, I know nothing about the browser or collaboration versions of Fusion, I'm running the regular version. So it's conceivable to me that in a browser based version you wouldn't have access to your local disk -- even though then why can you import files. Anyway, looks like you're in business so maybe just call it a fluke and move on.

RE: Fusion 360 export
I still have a case open with autodesk, hoping they can find the source of the problem. As you indicated, it smells like a bug. I have my way of stumbling into them. When I don't know the "right" way of doing things I've exposed many in my day by turning the wrong knob. Hey, if I'm not supposed to turn it, don't let me.
If they get it, I'll feed back here.
