First layer, no extrusion
hey,
I got into this problem after there was a clog i think,
(MK3 said to remove idler and pull filament manually ) after this on next print i having this issue of no extrustion for first layer but still able to get whole model , with little to no strings.
-- first thing
i use prusa control for slicing,
i have mk3 with now latest firmware
-- what i tried?
pulling filament manually,
lossing ideler
using needle
raising temp of hotend
also cold pull ( preheated the hot end with extrustion and pulling filament at 60 degree )
--anyone please explain what is happening
Re: First layer, no extrusion
had you re done Live Z before the faulty print?
does first layer calibration work?
did the next print work ok?
had you ever printed that model successfully?
did you look at the layers in prusa control?
I had a model recently where there was a tiny disc, under the main model, so effectively the first layer was about 1mm diameter. and this looked like a missing layer
I used Slic3r to cut the model 0.2mm above the build plate, and discarded the bit that was cut off.
next time the First layer was perfect

Re: First layer, no extrusion
hey , thanks for rply
i asked support staff for little to extrustion which leads to a solution of cold pull
well factory resetting has resolved that issue somewhat
by somewhat i mean there is a problem regarding the Extruder
i am getting a weird sound of clicking during printing as it retraction what . That i dont't know
by idler setting is fine as i checked tem with the post mentioning of them.
below is imge of model and cold pull result
Re: First layer, no extrusion
there have been a few posts about clicking extruder gears. i had the issue as well. i think my idler was too tight. for me iv had to experiment with different tensions, but when it was clicking, while printing, i would wait for a movement that was slow and i would loosen the idler bolts a little bit at a time. eventually the clicking stopped. maybe you can try that.
since then iv printed and rebuilt the extruder assembly with the R3 parts. that also seems to have helped, though that may be a coincidence.
