First layer and infill issues

Hello,

One of my mk3 printers has recently had a drastic change in print quality, the first layer calibration will not run successfully due to the filament not sticking in consistent spots on the print bed. I have tried swapping the print surfaces for other beds, and the spots where it fails remain the same. If I calibrate the live-z value and print with abs it will stick to the surface, but the proceeding print will have pretty bad quality, the infill will not stick together and it will pretty much fall apart. There are often holes in the outer walls of the print.

It almost looks like there are vibrations causing the extruder to not extrude a proper line, or maybe it is clogged. I have tried performing a cold pull on the nozzle and the problem persists.

I have attached an image of a print that I started with abs to provide an example of how the infill and support structures print. This often results in a failed print even though it printed the first few layers.

Thank you for your help!!

RE: First layer and infill issues

You are printing too fast for the material.  Rectilinear infill is a small problem because it typical is set to extrude a sinle layer of material even though it is filling a two layer gap; so it doesn't fil l100% and you get gaps and breaks in the runs.

Try using grid or gyroid infill, see how that prints.

Also, the print looks like the filament is coming out cold.  Is the nozzle staying at temp or is it perhaps drifting off the setting?  A broken wire in the extruder bundle can cause weird printing issues.

Also - I don't recognize the pattern being used: not sure how Prusa Slicer would make it.  There may be something off in the slice, too.

You should zip a 3MF export and post it so others can dig deeper to help.

Your adhesion is also very poor. Most of the print is lifting.
