Firmware upgrades with Arduino IDE / avrdude

Any suggestions on writing the provided HEX file to the board using avrdude or Arduino? I'm 100% linux - and Prusa does not provide firmware updaters for that platform (seems like they provide everything else - odd).

Do you have a Raspberry pi? There is a "firmware updater" plugin for octopi on there, that I have read about people having success flashing their mk2. (Same flash system as the mk3 as far as I know)
