Firmware Update - Howto Question...?
A little background on my setup. Like many of you I'm running my 3D printer with an RPi 3 instead of a Zero. Up to this point I've had the printer close enough that I could just move the USB cable from the printer to my desktop and then use Prusa Slicer 2.0 to update the firmware. I've now moved the printer and Pi into another room in the house and this approach for firmware updates is no longer feasible.
My plan to apply firmware updates to the printer going forward was to compile Prusa Slicer 2.0 for Raspberry Pi and then connect to the Pi SSH with X-Forwarding from my linux desktop and push the firmware updates that way. I've spent about a day compiling libboost and several other dependencies that Prusa Slicer 2.0 need and am currently compiling Prusa Slicer 2.0 on my RPi while I type this message.
I wanted to take a moment and ask a simple question that I probably should have started this entire process with, how do you guys apply your firmware updates? Is there a way to push firmware updates through OctoPrint? Is there a simpler way to accomplish firmware updates other than what I'm about to do?

If you are using Octopi you can update the firmware with a plugin
Firmware Updater
I updated with it several time without any problems. Give it a try!

Thank you for the suggestion. I did not know that there was a OctoPrint plugin for flashing firmware. This greatly simplifies thing for me. One questions though, what Flash Method in "Firmware Updater" do you use for flashing your Prusa 3D printer?

Just a follow up seeing as I've used AVRDUDE before I figured I'd give it a shot and it worked like a champ. I now have it configured through OctoPrint and firmware is being successfully updated. Thank you again for the suggestion.
