Firmware update from Mac on MK3S+
Hi all,
Trying to do my first firmware update to my MK3S+ from my iMac via the instruction online, it is connected as per the instructions.
To flash the firmware into your printer, connect the RAMBo board to your computer using the square-shaped USB-B 2.0 cable. The printer must be ON!
However no matter what I do I can not get past this instruction.
If the Serial port field display anything but the name of the printer (ex. usbmodemfa141 or /dev/tty.usbmodem) you should try another USB port on your computer, reinstall the driver or restart your computer.
I have put the USB in all my available ports but each time I get this Original Prusa i3 MK3 (/dev/cu.usbmodem14101) as serial port, I really do not understand why or how to resolve this.
I have other devices/cables connected to other USB's a phone charger and printer!
iMac setup: 21.5 inch 2019 running macOS Monterey

Sounds just fine to me. Original Prusa i3 MK3 (/dev/cu.usbmodem14101) is the name of your printer. Have you actually tried to flash it?

No @fuchsr I have not.
Am I wrong in thinking it should read as per the image on the firmware update page? Original Prusa i3 MK3 (COM4)

COM4 would be on Windows, and even there it depends what COM channel your computer is showing. As long as the Serial Port field is populated and Status is Ready, you're good.

Okay I see now, not used a PC for a few years and don't normally mess you USB connected devices apart from Printer.
3D printer going offline for a few days as Mrs wants her dining table back for xmas dinner 😂
I'll give a go next week, thanks for replying and have a great Christmas 🧑🏼🎄
