Firmware compilation problems

I installed a Volcano hotend on one of my Mk3s, and I am attempting to update the firmware, but I can't get it to compile.

I've followed the directions on Github. I have tried several times, and it's just not working. I keep getting an error message-

Einsy_1_0.h:106:33: error: pasting "/* Beeper on AUX-4*/" and "_RPORT" does not give a valid preprocessing token

I am using Arduino 1.8.6. I had 1.8.5 on my other computer and tried it there but no luck.

Any suggestions??

Re: Firmware compilation problems

I would make certain that you can compile the stock firmware before any patches..
Even using Arduino 1.8.8 under MacOS, I can compile the sketch without a problem. So, I think you will get there.

The error message looks like some definitions are missing, possibly missing file(s)

Did you download ENTIRE firmware directory or piecemeal? I would download the ENTIRE firmware directory <---- this is my strongest suspect.

Rename and move the correct variant file?

Set compliler flags? (if on Windows)

You seem to have gotten the RAMO board selection ok because you don't mention a board selection error.
However, verify you selected version 1.01 not 1.00 under for your board.

Can some one be kind enough to assist us on how to update the firmware according to your recommendation?
