Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Not sure which file to flash the Prusa site has V3.2.1 but GitHub pulled the download files? I'm at 3.1.3 and was going to take the leap today but now not sure 3.2.0 or 3.2.1.

FYI - From Facebook forum: Jakub talked to the devs it is back on, some maintenance thing 😉
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Is the bug still present where after a crash it does not heat back up, and just continues to try and print at 0 temps?
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
The orange "Download for Linux' link on https://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/ does not work.
It just loops back to the same page, using Firefox, Brave and Chrome browsers.
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
I recently finished successfully building my mk3 kit, yay 😛 😛 ! I updated to 3.2.1 right after powering up the first time. I noticed that the filament sensor on mine is not enabled by default, is it recommended not to use it?
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
I think that mine was off, too. Just enable it and run self-test to see if all is OK.
And happy printing!

Can anyone help me with firmware flashing using Slic3r?
I am running into a problem and do not know what to do.
After connecting the printer via USB cable, Slic3r seems to find the printer, but clicking the "Flash!" button results in the error message pasted below:

Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Did you try to run slic3r as admin?
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3

No, and I have no idea how I could do that. I just click on the Slic3rPE-1.40.0-beta.linux64-full-201805231653.AppImage and it starts. I cannot find any option to enable admin rights.
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Oh...linux...i can't be of much help here, sorry, but you have to find the way to "take ownership" over files in that folder. I guess it's the same as it is in Windows: you can't mess with files in Prusa folder unless you have admin rights.

Hi John, just a temporary maintenance thing, use the 3.2.1 😉
The orange "Download for Linux' link on https://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/ does not work.
It just loops back to the same page, using Firefox, Brave and Chrome browsers.
Thanks for the feedback, forwarded to our web admins.

...
Start an issue on the GitHub, our devs will have a look in it. Though keep in mind the Slic3r PE is still beta, so this procedure isn't 100% ready yet.

Thanks! I am going to hold off until this, as it is pretty game breaking for me lol.
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Does temperature calibration work for anyone else on 3.2.1? I've had no problem in the past but 3.2.1 sends the nozzle diving straight into the print bed (steel plate is off). Z calibration works fine (steel plate on).
Guess I'm probably OK without it for now, but weird...
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
I used temperature calibration for the first time with 3.2.1 and it seems to work at least no crashes 😉
I did a factory reset after flashing.
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
I have 3.2.1.576 and just built new mk3. gets z axis errors when try to calculate z. prints beautiful. homes beautifully. ??????
Is Z axis error still there on calibration?????????????
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Hi James,
the three most common issues with regards to Z axis, are:
1, Installing the Z axis Lead Screw Nuts upside down, the thin section should go inside the X axis End pieces!
2, Installing the extruder too low in the extruder housing ( there is a boss on the top of the extruder which should be captive in the mouldings of the extruder housing,)
3, putting the filament holder on the wrong side of the frame. (It should be on the back of the frame, not on the front of the frame)
Regards Joan

Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
I've had a couple of Z axis crashes using 3.2.1-576 and had not experienced those before.
The latest occurred after I selected to Stop the print from the LCD/rotary knob interface. The print happened to still be printing the first layer.
Other than this I have not had much trouble
- have never moved the PINDA since the original build (live Z sits around -0.65
- have never done any fancy bed level tweaking in software
- have never done any temperature calibration changes, routines or adjustments.
also, I always print from the SD card and typically print PLA except that today I switched to do some PETG.
in other words - I run pretty plain vanilla/stock setup.
What can explain the Z crashes?
I've been waiting for things to be good and stable so I can put in the Olson Ruby nozzle that I bought and not worry about breaking it.
thoughts?
Re: Firmware 3.2.1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
It been quite a long time without an update and there appears that there have been quite a few issues closed since 3.2.1. I hope they have something big they are working on which is cause the delay of 3.2.2.
My concern is 97% of the flash is used today and with so little space left in the flash memory will PR be able to fix everything
