Re: Firmware 3.2.0-RC1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3 and MK2.5

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue with a RPi Zero W installed on the EINSY but this firmware has made printing much slower. Running off the SD card is running fine but 3.2 is much slower on the Pi than 3.1.3. I am assuming this is due to LA being cpu intensive. I am running my Zero W with wifi and bluetooth disabled in the config and have an OTG ethernet port attached for wired internet access. On more complex prints it literally stutters around the perimeter causing inconsistent extrusion.

Hey,

I am running a Pi 0w as well with wifi enabled. Have not observed any stutters or slow prints.
But so far i have only ran prints with less than 1.5h runtime.

Cheers
Oliver

I wonder if this firmware will fix my Filament Sensor not found issue. It says it improves such things. After my print is over, I will give it a try.

Cannot pass the last point calibration. First 3 work fine.

I have the same on a previously working printer.

Same problem here, xyz cal failing. First time on third point, second and third attempts failed at first point.

UPDATE: I downgraded to 3.1.0 and calibration worked flawlessly. Image-based calibration seems badly broken.

XYZ calibration is failing for me. Nozzle crashes on the front right. New kit builder. With the "grey" pinda probe.

I was having this problem too. I lowered my PINDA probe another notch, and it completed the XYZ calibration. I'm also seeing now MUCH more consistent results during my Live-Z adjustment tests. Before it was pretty much hopeless, as I could run the same gcode with the same Live-Z value multiple times and get different results each time. Now I am actually able to make incremental adjustments, and see incremental changes in the results that make sense.

Re: Firmware 3.2.0-RC1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3 and MK2.5

Interesting... i didn't have any problems with live-Z setting in previous FW's. I've had it set to around -0.350, so, i guess that pinda is not too far away. With RC1 FW nozzle was veeery close during calbrating, of course it didn't finish. And that annoying message at startup just doesn't go away...

I'm really somewhat dissapointed. Prusa said that it will come in mid March, now it's end of April and not a word from support... I can't get rid of that funny feeling that customers are not much worthed in this company...
ANY word would be better than nothing. Is it really SO HARD to write "guys, we have major problems with FW, so be patient and wait a while..."?
We all are pretty much aware that writing decent FW will be very hard, since decision for using Atmega 2560 instead of ARM was wrong at first place, so we are willing to wait, but just SAY ANYTHING! Ignorance is the one who "kills"...

Update: Since I posted this, I've had two instances where bed leveling failed. Neither time was there any valid reason - nothing on the nozzle, nothing under the metal sheet.

I have the same issue as others, XYZ Calibration fails on point #4. Reverted to v3.1.3 and calibration passes fine.

For me this firmware was a game changer. Since 3.2.0-RCI my prints are consistantly perfect.
Oh and I retightened the bearings on the Y carriage, the were a bit loose

Re: Firmware 3.2.0-RC1 what is E-correction

Things have been going well in 3.1.1-rc5 but I had some wires on the print fan that were intermittent so I tore down and repaired them. Good time to update to 3.2.0 RC1. A little bumpy start but got it going and calibrated. Printing away now with that. I think I like linear advance, thanks. I have not re-input values for bed level correction from 3.1.1 .

All good is the new Settings - E-correct new I have no memory of it before and can find no ref in manual. Is there someplace I can find out what this is and should I care.

Thanks for caring.

I got the unusual message about the board as well but had no calibration issues so far.

My first prints sidewalls looked significantly better using optimal settings than they did on the previous version!

Re: Firmware 3.2.0-RC1 for Original Prusa i3 MK3 and MK2.5

Not sure what you mean.

What you mean by that? It's really quite obvious, don't you think?

First mistake: shutting off linear advance because of octoprint problems. WHY? Not all people use it, so it could be an option in menu. In fact, i think that many users doesn't use it.

Second mistake: quite a while (up to when they announced 3.2.0 recently) NOONE bothered to reply to questions and pleads to re-include linear advance fro non-octoprint users. They could give out two FW's as a temporary solution: one with octoprint, one with linear advance, so each user would choose.

Third mistake: Prusa promised new FW with LA enabled waaay ago and he was pretty specific about the date. Why, if he's not sure that they will be able to deliver? Since it's really almost two months behind, SOMEONE could speak out and say at least ANYTHING, like "sorry folks, we have problems, new FW will come with delay"... right?

Make no mistake: i still think that mk3 is the best printer around i i would instantly buy it again. But these are small mistakes which shade a bad light into whole thing. And i don't blaim Josef for that. After all he has many employees and can't be responsible for all, even if he is a general manager. But, his mistake is speak too soon and promise something at a fixed date, which usually turns out impossible (remember MK3 delay? bed delay? etc...).

All i'm saying is: Prusa guys, TALK to the people! It's silence, who kills!!!
