Find out previous firmware version

Hi,

Yesterday I did firmware update to newest version. After the updates i have some troubles with printing which i need to further investigate (and potentionaly create another topic for it).

But my question right now is: Is there a way to find out what version of firmware was I running before the update? Some prusaslicer logs maybe?

Thanks for any help.

RE: Find out previous firmware version

Prusa Slicer has no knowledge of the firmware the printer you use the gcode on.  So the answer to your question is no.

Assuming you are using a default Prusa Profile for a mk3 then there's a line in the start gcode to tell the PRINTER what the latest firmware is so it can give you the helpful/annoying warning when you print with that gcode if the printers firmware is older but that's all downstream from slicer TO the printer.

One other thing to bear in mind given your comment on opening another topic here is that these are user to user forums.  If you actually have firmware issues then those need to be reported over at the appropriate github.  For the MK3 then that is located here https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues
That's also a likely starting place to check if anyone else has had the same issue by searching both open AND closed issues.

I know that PrusaSlicer can not know the firmware during standard slicing but I thought maybe it knows the firmware when it is connected to the printer and performs the actual firmware update.

afaik unless you start PS with one of the loglevel switches then it doesn't log much of anything.  At least on windows.

As you are accessing the comm ports though there may be the slim possibility that the OS may have logged something during the process.
