Filament stuck during print

Hi,

i have a prusa mk3s and i print since a year. after i changed the heatblock i have the following problem:

the printer works fine for the first couples of prints after changing the printhead. a couple of days later, the printer starts to fail to transport the filament AFTER the first (random) cm of printheight. when i unload the filament the filament have grooves where the transportwheels are. if i reload the filament, it exits instantly extrudes with the right color and without clicking.

The filament doesn't matter at all. (i used prusament, das filament and random filament from amazon) all PLA.

if i disasamble the head, nothing obvius is shown.

Check to make sure your PTFE tube is all the way in.

i remove the printhead and reentered the ptfe tube. a new testprint ist on the way.

 

thnx for the sugesstion.  ( i am partitialy shure that i done this last time, but not fully....)

I have had similar experiences in the last couple of weeks.  I was using ABS filament and ti always happened with the same filament.

After a jam unload the filament and inspect the stub at the end.  If the stub is >2.0 mm diameter, the heat break is affecting you.

Also, when assembling the hot end after replacing parts, it is common for users to make mistakes and not assemble the parts correctly. For example, often the nozzle is inserted into the heater block too far.  This causes the heat break to be too high and the melt zone is too high in the heat break and additional filament drag is the result. It also leads to improper torque contact between the nozzle and the heat break, and melt can extrude past the threads.

It may also be that summer is here and your room is warmer. This leads to problems, too.

You should replace your heat break with the standard E3D-V6 version.

Yes it's better in that I can see the picture in more detail. 
does this happen on both pre sliced example models and self sliced models?, are you using Prusa Slicer 2?

I am stumped as to what is causing that effect... 

I see 4 issues...
1, at the bottom, you have a blob... from the nozzle/heatbreak melt zone
above that you have
2, some unexpected disturbed surface roughness( possibly at the level of the ptfe/ heatbreak reduced diameter), then
a smooth section, then
3, another area of disturbed surface. which is really odd as there shouldn't be  anything in and that area to cause problems...
and finally at the top, there is
4, the narrowed section where the bondtech gears have eaten away the filament...

does the surface roughness rub off easily (items 2 & 3) , between the bottom blob and the worn away area?
I think they are unimportant... 

the blob at the bottom may be caused by lots of repeated retractions.

could you try again,  but reduce the retractions to say 0.4mm?.

first, i used simplify3d as usaly. but due to the error i used prusa slicer 2 with stock settings (and prusa filament instead of my trusted dasfilament filament.)

i think about to drop the complete (new) printhead and use my second spareparts. (beside the heat element and the thermistor) 

i think also the  roughness is a thing of the  boden gears - i should check the heat of the head with another termistor to prevent a false heating or overheating... but i dont think this is the case. 

a posibility is a wrong nozzelsize ? (to small)

The surface abrasion are areas where the extruder was struggling to push filament, but eventually got past that region, then finally hit a region where the extruder made enough noise the print was stopped - producing the stub seen here.  I'd not worry about the debris on the filament, it's the stuff that slipped past as the filament was removed and is now inside the heat break that can collect and cause another type of clog.

Yes, it seems fine now.

May be the problem is with the filament its diameter is not proper. Though many manufacturers claims it is equal but it seems to have some problem.
