Filament Sensor Doesn't Work

Hello there!

I hope you can help us with this issue. We have a Prusa I3 MK3 that we bought in the Kit version so we fully assembled it by ourselves.
The Kit arrived to our workshop in July and we didn't change its firmware to the last version so it still works on 3.2.1 version.

We didn't get any trouble using it and by now it has been printing for a total time of 11 days approx.
Unfortunately, today is the first day it tried to print a part that wouldn't be finished with the filament left in the spool. We didn't think there would be any problem as we expected the Prusa to be paused and tell us to insert new filament once the spool run out of filament.

You can guess what happened: the filament run out but the machine still goes on its printing job, so we lost 7 hours of printing time and all that filament for nothing as we can't recover the job done and continue in the layer where the hotend stopped extruding material.

Please tell me what can we do to make that filament sensor propperly work. It seems to us that the one in our Prusa never worked at all.

Thank you!

Re: Filament Sensor Doesn't Work

Have you checked the menu if the filament sensor is activated?
Look in the "Settings / Filament sensor" menu if it is On or Off
