Filament Sensor and RPi not detecting

Howdy,

I am having 2 issues with my i3 MK3.

1. The filament sensor does not seem to be detecting. Under settings it says "N/A" for Fil. Sensor and F. autoload. I checked both ends of the cable and it seems like the cable is good. How do I replace my Filament Sensor?

2. The RPi has been unable to connect to the printer. I checked all the solder connections and they seem good to me. The RPi when plugged in does power on and I can connect to it over SSH and the Web UI. When I click connect with any baud rate, including AUTO, the printer does not respond. I did verify that the RPi port in settings is enabled.

The RPi is running the prusa provided version of Octopi from the install guide. Same behavior was experienced with the stock image and after running the software update in the web UI.

I am not sure what might be going on here. What could cause the printer to be unresponsive besides bad solder joints?

Edit: I should clarify, this is an RPi Zero W connected through the GPIO headers, not an RPi connected over the USB port.
