Filament sensor always 1
I bought the Prusa MK3s as my second printer and build it with great care and patience.
Followed the manual and Youtube assemble (Frank 3D printshop) so it would be the perfect printer.
What a disapointment it was that the filament sensor is not working correctly. It gives always 1, filament or no filament so the autoload dos not work. I hear the ball and see the level moving correctly and freely Also paid lots of attention on it at assemble. When I disconnect the plug of the sensor it gives 0 so al is working correct
After Googeling my problem I found out that it is a design problem and now I have to take the hole extruder apart to fix the level sensor of and hope it will work and not give no filament during printing or other problems.
Is there a good tutorial with pictures of solving my problem. I want to be good prepaired before taking the extruder apart.

Hi,
had the same issue with my first MK3S-kit a few days ago. The sensor - in my eyes - is a really bad design flaw. Went through all the steps mentioned in the help-file, however the motor-plate was always moving the FS-lever once tightening it and sensor stayed 1. I finally solved the problem by adding a small non-conducting washer (as being used when mounting mainboards, the red ones) under the IR-sensor.
But first, check the correct position of the plug as described in the help file, takes only a few seconds to check. If that is correct...
Switch off printer, take off the FS-cover, then unscrew the IR-sensor. Add the non-conductive-washer between sensor and extruder-body, put the M2x8 screw through the washer and mount the sensor. Then turn on the printer and test the sensor by checking LCD Menu -> Support -> Sensor info with a piece of filament. If the sensor now works as expected, put back the FS-cover and be happy. If not... I guess you have to go all the way and disassemble the extruder (which is done on a few minutes).
