Filament Runout Feature Not Working
Okay so I have been printing things for a few months. I had problems with the auto-load filament and filament runout sensor. I actually didn't realize they weren't working because I didn't understand them.
Finally sat down this weekend to debug, learned how the sensor worked, and put a little space/adjusted my screws/etc until the Sensor Info in the Support menu would correctly read 0/1 for No Filament/Filament.
Great, problem solved right? Filament autoload is working great now. Sensor is on and autoload is on. However, when a print runs out of filament, it doesn't pause and ask to load more. I double checked the Support -> Sensor Info and, indeed, it reads there is no filament, however it just keeps on trying to print still.
I'm running a MK3S on firmware 3.8.0-2684. I did just install a Raspberry Pi Zero W with Octoprint, but I turned it off to try to rule it out. It had no effect. Otherwise, no mods, no crazy filament, just silver prusament PLA.
I'm going to try a firmware update but any other ideas? I thought I cracked this nut when I got the sensor reading right...
RE: Filament Runout Feature Not Working
I assume you have checked that both "Settings / Filament sensor" and "Settings / F. autoload" is On.

Yup, I called that out in my post, those are on. Autoload is working. Pausing when the filament has runout is not. And the sensor absolutely flips from 1 to 0 when the filament runs out in the middle of the print.
I'm quite baffled.
RE: Filament Runout Feature Not Working
Is there any news on that topic? I ran into the same problem using Firmware 3.8.1-2869. Filament sensor is on and autoload is working fine.
So how to solve this issue?
Regards
RE: Filament Runout Feature Not Working
I have been having the same issue with the runout function not working. Worked with Prusa support and they had me re-flash firmware. Fixed my issue. For me, auto load worked fine. If I monitored the sensors from the support page when filament ran out, I saw it switch from 1 to 0 every time but it would keep trying to print. All is good again thanks to Prusa support!
