In extremis, when a hotend assembly is completely clogged, you are either going to have to replace the whole thing ... or you can disassemble and heat all the metalwork until you can clear it and hope the result is still working. Either way you will need to replace the PTFE.
Cheerio,
RE: Filament not loading, makes skipping sound
Your problem mirrors mine. I removed the nozzle and could not push filament through so I let it cool down, disassembled the heatsink from the hot end, removed the PTFE tube in the photo. No damage I could see. I still could not get anything through the heatsink/heatbreak. I removed the heatbreak from the heatsink and found the little bit of cooked filament pictured next to the tube. I ordered a replacement heatbreak, some PTFE tubes and nozzles for spare parts and even though I don't see any damage on any of these bits, I'll just replace them to be sure. FYI ethyl acetate will soften PLA for cleaning it off the nozzle or heatbreak. Depending where you live, you can buy the stuff at a hardware store as "MEK Substittue".
RE: Filament not loading, makes skipping sound
Also having this issue. I disassembled the hotend, replaced the nozzle because it was clogged. Now it does not grab the filament when loading. I can see the gears are turning when trying to load. If I move the extruder down via the LCD panel I can push filament all the way down and if I heat the hotend it does melt the filament. Trying to figure what to do next.
RE: Filament not loading, makes skipping sound
If you canbeasily push the filament into the hotend, check the tensioner screw is properly tightened. If the tension is good, check the set screw on the filament drive gear.
RE: Filament not loading, makes skipping sound
Hey did you ever figure it out. I’m having the same issue and also did cold pulls, replaced ptfe tube, changed screw tension
RE: Filament not loading, makes skipping sound
I'm having the same issue and I have deduced the issue is with the heatbreak. What did you end up replacing and what were the results?
Continuing this thread, I've removed the nozzle and still cannot push filament or a wire through the extruder from the top. Based on some measurements I stumbled onto it would appear my issue is in the heatbreak. Following various links, because in my opinion the Knowledge
Base search function is crap, I've found the instructions for replacing that bit an have parts on order. Fingers crossed that fixes things.
RE: Filament not loading, makes skipping sound
I had a problem like this at one point. It was twofold. One was the two tight extruder screw but you said you already looked at, but I also had an issue where the set screw on the thing that turns to pull the filament through had gotten loose and misaligned. There's sort of a groove on it that's textured that pulls the filament down but it hits slid off to the side so it wasn't grabbing the filament
