Filament get stucked
Loading of filament is OK. Then I run 1st layer calibration and just drops come out while extruder skips steps. It is not problem of:
- Dirty nozzle/heatbreak because it works when filament loading. Unloading works just fine as well.
- Extruder step motor (as previous)
- Bondtech wheels - I've cleaned them
The issue appears when the nozzle is heated and extruder does not run for a while. Also it starts during print if short (0.8) retraction is used. If I use 3 mm retraction the issue is less probable. Unloading filament is always OK.
Possible issue could be damaged PTFE. Or is the issue somewhere else?
Thanks
RE: Filament get stucked
Model printer and firmware used? PLA or ABS or Carbon Fiber filament? Sliced with Cura, Simplify,Slic3r? Etc. It would help to know a little bit more about your setup.
But, any time someone is playing with retraction and causing themselves problems, I always ask "Why are you playing with retraction settings?" because there is usually something else we need to know.
But as a total SWAG, you may be suffering filament solidification in the heat break transition zone. With the Prusa heat break, melted filament is retracted too high, then cools and catches on the step and can prevent further extrusion.
