Filament get stuck after update

Now, I will put my printing on stop until I find my problem.
After a few week of pause on my printing, Friday I have made a print without problem, and see that I have to change my Firmware. This weekend, I have put my Firmware up to date (3.8.0), and now the trouble have start, sometime I hear “tic” noise, I think the filament do not move when the roller move. But it still print, and then, I hear it without end, and the filament does not get out. I stop the print, ask the printer to get out the filament, I cut the end, put it back in it, and everything is ok, the filament exit from the extruder.

What I can do to resolve my printing problem?

You will have to provide a lot more information to get help.

What printer, kit or prebuilt, how old, what filament are you using, how do you keep it dry,

what print bed, what head temperature and what bed temperature.

Also: what have you used to clean the head? Cold pulls? Cleaning filament? Have you tried other filaments?

RE: Filament get stuck after update

This was a kit, that I have build this summer. I have pass 6 spool of filament without seeing a problem as this.
I print PLA, at a temp of 210/60 (never change the temp setting from the prusa slicer). Alway use Materio3D filament.
fryday I have print without a problem with a new spool of black. In the weekend, when the problem appear, I was still used the same spool. Monday I have try to print 50 small token (3h12 print at 0.15mm layer), with the same spool, but the problem appear. I have change spool for my blue, and this time I have print with no problem (a old spool that I have use a few time). Yesterday I have try a other new spool of purple for a other batch of smaller token, and 3 time the problem happen. I have change to a Beige that I have print 2-3 time before without problem in the past, and the same problem appear. I have stop to print at this point. The blue spool was purchased 1-2 week after the printer. My Beige spool have at most 1 month old. I keep them in their zipblock bag with the humidity bag inside.

I have remove the spool holder on the top of the printer, created a wall mounted spool holder, with a simple filament guide on the top of the printer. I don’t think that may cause problem, because the spool turn easier then the original.

I does not have clean the head, because it is clean, and when I put back the filament, the filament exit without a problem in the filament change. To clean the head, I only have the needle that came with it.

the bed, is the original flat one.

It is possible without problem to return to the firmware 3.7.2, because personally, I think that the firmware may be the problem.

in the picture, you see my setup. I will surely reload the filament, I don’t like the twists in it.

You can't see any contamination building up inside the head.

Read this:

Also, pick up some cleaning filament. It is cheap and is probably good enough on it's own. Just use it every time you change filaments.
