Extuder cools too much
I am using a filament with a print range 0f 180C to 210C. When I set the first layer to 185C and other layers to 180C, after printing the first layer, the temperature drops to 174C. This causes the no extrusion while the temp is 178C or lower. When it gets to 174C, it climbs back to 180C and extrusion resumes leaving a small portion of layer 2 with little or no fill. Setting all layers to 185C seems to work even though it drops to 179C before returning to 185C on the second layer. Is there a setting that I can change to prevent the temperature from dropping 6 degrees below the requested temperature before returning to the proper temperature?

Have you run a PID tuning session off the LCD Menu?
did you know that you can use the M302 S120 to change the minimum extrusion temperature, which may help overcome the issue if PID doesn't help!

I ran the PID a few months ago. Would you recommend running it again, or go straight to the "M302 S120" implementation? (Do I add the code to the StartUp code in PrusaSlicer?)

Definitely do PID tuning. You might also consider adding a silicone sock to stabilize hotend temps when the fan kicks in.

the PID is best run at the temperature you are printing at, if you did it at 210C for regular PLA
then it's not optimum for 180C.
so give PID a go at 180C,
Add the M302 S120 (or perhaps M302 S150) to the start gcode, and watch the temperature on the next print. see how it goes...

Thank you very much! Do you have a good source for silicon socks? I've looked on Amazon, but am very confused on what is appropriate for the Prusa MK3S.
