Extrusion seems to stop after printing first layer

I have recently started experiencing a frustrating issue with prints failing. After printing a perfect first layer, it seems like the printer stops extruding, which naturally causes the print to fail. You can see the extruder move during retraction, but it won't turn forward to extract (again AFTER printing a perfect first layer). I have created a video of this, https://streamable.com/ixtt6l where I am printing the Nefertiti directly from the original Prusa SD card.

Has anyone seen this before? Or am I off base here? I honestly can't think of any reason this could be happening.

I'm running a Prusa MK3S.

There is a trailing comma in the video link that needs to be removed before the link will load!

RE: Extrusion seems to stop after printing first layer

Hi David,
I have never printed Nefertiti
If you look in the other side of the extruder, is the other bondtech hobbed gear on the motor shaft, turning?
Can you unload the filament easily? is the filament damaged where it was inside the extruder?

Have you opened your bondtech door?
Is there a clump of filament between the Bondtech gears and the PTFE?
could the bondtech idler bearing pin have come adrift?   It's a little short and needs to be inserted so that both ends are supported by the plastic ears

your tensioner screw seems much further through than mine, could your idler be very tight?

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
