Extruder suddenly colliding on the left side, not going all the way right
Hi all,
after some wood PLA filament had clogged my hot end, I opened the idle door and most certainly also moved the extruder manually in the whole process.
It seems that somehow my i3 MK3s now has some kind of wrong "calibration" along the X axis that can't be fixed by the calibration feature. Even during the XYZ calibration the Extruder will go all the way left until it collides with the frame, then stop (e.g. at XYZ calibration point 1). When it goes to point 2 on the right side, it will not even go all the way to the left. It seems there is some kind of offset or it's "center" was shifted left.
When I just go through the whole process and then do a test print, it is exactly the same issue. The printer will go so far to the left that it almost leaves the print bed and collides with the frame, while on the right side, its not going all the way over.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? I don't even know how this happend in the first place. I bought the printer 2 months ago pre-assembled and until today I had no issues at all.
Thank you

I can think of two things to try:
- Factory reset.
- Redo the set-up wizard.

Hello and welcome to the Prusaforum!
Did you change anything in the mechanics? maybe a defective or non lubricated bearing, an axle bent or some other problem (filament residue or zip tie) that could cause smooth running problems? Belt tension ok? As @cwbullet commented, a factory reset can often have a miraculous effect.

RE: Extruder suddenly colliding on the left side, not going all the way right
Hi, I was actualy having a similar problem recently and I found that it was much harder to move the extruder left and right that it should be. I found that by relubercating the slides on that axis and slightly loosening the 4 screws on the back of the extruder that help hold the bearings in place, before sliding the extruder side to side a few times and retightening the screws seemed to fix the problem.
