Extruder noise, but probably not nozzle clog.

One of my printers started making a noise from the extruder, but this noise is different than the classic nozzle clog clicking which I am well familiar with.  Prints still come out fine and I've done a cold pull to make sure there was no clog but the noise persists.

I'm going to try attaching a video, hopefully it comes through.

The video would not play for me.  It could be that you are extruding too fast.  It can create a similar sound.

I tried two different ways to attach the video here and neither worked.  Here is a direct link to audio of the issue.

Well after several hours of print time with this noise the print quality has started to degrade.  I'm getting more bits and blobs.  So I'm going to need to fix something but I don't know where to start.

How much tension is on your filament?

Actually I think I figured it out.  The pin that holds the tensioner door pulley/gear in place had worked it's way all the way to one end and I believe that the gear end was floating a bit and causing the gear to rub against the tensioner door housing.  I centered the pin and the noise stopped and a test print came out perfect.
