Extruder knocks print off the heatbed
My print will work fine until the extruder starts working on the piece at between 2.5 and 5 cm high. At that point, the extruder somehow strikes the piece and knocks it off the heatbed resulting in a failed print. What could be happening? This is happening every time.
The printer worked perfectly for over 1200 hours of printing. The problems started after having done a full maintenance on the printer. Since then, I have replaced the nozzle and the front fan, although I'm pretty sure these are not the problem.
This is almost certain to be poor first layer adhesion.
After you replaced the nozzle did you run a new first layer Z calibration?
Cheerio,
Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion. One of the most frustrating things is that I have worked on calibrating the Z several times, but the problem remains. Low prints work fine, but not anything higher.
The nozzle is not hitting the print. The print is hitting the nozzle.
Your print is releasing from the bed. It's the only way this symptom happens. Try the usual things - get your first layer right (you did not show the bottom of your prints in your pictures). Get your bed clean. Really clean. No, put the alcohol down. That won't clean.
