Extruder gear keeps clicking

This started happening after I had to pull the filament out when it got stuck after an unload.

Now the Bondtech gear seems stuck and clicks on each attempt to turn even with the idler door open and no filament inside. I can run filament through the extruder manually with no problem with the idler door open.
I suspect that it either got out of place or there's a bit of filament inside that I can't see from the idler door.

What to do? Do I have to take the whole extruder apart? Is there a recommended guide that gives me access to the motor/gear with minimal teardown?

It may be that the tiny little grub screw that secures the bondtech drive gear to the extruder motor shaft is loose and is hitting on every rotation.  With the door open and the extruder turning theres nothing to make it click other than that I think.

There was debris on the drive gear, but it was on top of it, and I couldn't pull it from the idler door.

I've loosed the components by following the how-to change your PTFE tube, and that enabled me to rotate the gear.

I sometimes use a gentle vacuum cleaning to clean the gear area to get rig of any bits left behind…
