EXTRUDER CLICKING

WHAT TO LOOK FOR??  Extruder making clicking noise at times.  original I3 MK3.

We will need a bit more information than that to help you.  When does the noise occur, what filament were you using, how old is the printer, etc.

Can you tell exactly where the clicking is coming from?

using petg and pla. mostly during first 3 layers. I think it might be retraction causing it. printed a 5 hr print this morning and after skirt and first 3 layers worked w/o any clicking..  not too worried prints fine.

The problem with clicking is there are a lot of things that can cause it including filament slipping, fans catching, various mechanical parts catching on things, etc.

If I was you I'd have a good look when it's doing it and at least try to see if any wires are getting caught otherwise they may get broken.
