Extruder cable bundle: I need new NYLON filament
When upgrading my MK3 extruder to MK3S, I realized I'd cut the NYLON filament at some point, rendering it useless. It makes the extruder cable bundle sag, but that's not a problem most of the time since I don't print big things often and it doesn't get in the way.
Is it just standard 2.85mm NYLON 3d printing filament? Could I double up some 1.75mm stuff? Or is there some hardware store hack folks could recommend? I don't see it at the Prusa store or anywhere, any tips appreciated!

Did you buy an upgrade kit. My MK3s+ upgrade kit had a new piece of nylon filament in it. Check you box.
It is 2.85 mm nylon filament.
I haven't seen (not really looked for ever) anything at the hardware store that you could use.
Maybe you could use a piece of PTFE tube if you have that. It is a bit thicker so you will have to drill out the hole in the extruder.
Lets see if others have better ideas.

The manual talks about a 3 mm filament. I just measured my spare piece and that is 3 mm, not 2.85.

Thanks, I got the MK3 to MK3S upgrade kit, and while it came with PETG and hardware, it didn't have replacement NYLON filament. It's not listed as part of the current MK3/S to MK3S+ kit either. The kit sat for >2 years but nope no 3mm NYLON filament hmm 🙁

The simplest solution might be to get 1.75mm NYLON filament to print a 3mm hex cross-section piece 😛

You could order a 3mm sample of nylon and have enough for 6 printers.

Oh hey thanks! I found small spools, wow so cheap...
I've gotten free samples of electronics components, I thought maybe there was a similar thing going on for filaments but it seems not.
Anyway I'll try making my own in the mean time, I'd rather not waste a little spool.
