Etruder Motor Freaking out
MK3S+ - have been printing without issues forever... 3 hours into a 4 hr print yesterday, the extruder stopped feeding. figured it was a plugged nozzle, as that is usually the issue. Replaced nozzle, and when I tried to reload filament, the extruder motor just made this grinding like sound, and the gear just kid of chattered back and forth, not feeding material at all. I have only had this trouble one other time in all the years of printing on my Prusas, and that was when a cheap Amazon extruder motor gave out - gearbox jammed up. The extruder motor I currently have is a nice Zaribo that is only a couple of months old. But things happen, right? So I replaced the motor with a brand spankin' new Zaribo, and the same thing happened with the new motor. Here is a video clip of the odd behavior. I'm stuck. Anyone have this before? Any ideas on how to fix it?
RE: Etruder Motor Freaking out
Solved the issue on my own. I did a continuity check on the motor wires. Turns out one of the wires had gotten pinched near the extruder head and ended up breaking. Replaced the wire with a spare harness I had in the parts box, and all is good to go with both of my extruder motors now.
