Re: eSUN PETG INI for Slic3r on MK3 ?
Actually I don't think it does do re-calibration for that change, but if you can bear it it probably wouldn't hurt to perform a firmware reset. This will force a calibration.
Of course that could be an option I would try, but I was searching if there are other things I need to check. Mechanically.
As for the layer shift I have printed 12 bolts at once with those settings and all printed fine so I don't think its the z lift.
Is the layer shift occurring on just one or two models? If so then I would run the stl file/s through a checker just to make sure it isn't missing some layers. And can you film the printing so that you can see what happens? It could be something easily fixed like a belt too tight for example.
Well, the shift issue is gone on a sedond test, so actually that's not a STL/GCode issue, mor a mechanical problem. So it's difficult to film it.
Couldn't be a belt to loose?
Also, those models look like they may be suffering a bit from over extrusion. Perhaps drop the extrusion multiplier down a bit?
So, that was an old print (picture above, not skirt, but the defected. And yes, it was a little overextruded. I was able to calibrate it with the cube test. Now it seems ok (multiplier 1.035).
Good luck.
Thanks!

Re: eSUN PETG INI for Slic3r on MK3 ?
Hello Rob,
I'm back on using eSun PETG. Results seems ok.
I've to test better some multiplier test and retraction test.
BTW, meanwhile, I'm noticing only one more issue (hope!).
Overall on the first layers, having z-hop/lift disabled, I can notice some skretches on the surface.
Looking the travel via Octoprint, it's clear it's caused during travels.
What could be best the cause?
Multiplier?
Too much material printed increases the layer a little bit and it gets hitted.
First Layer Calibration?
I could solve them with a littttle z-hop, but would avoid if this is causing me then stringing.
Thanks!
Simon
Re: eSUN PETG INI for Slic3r on MK3 ?
Try adding a little z lift. A small amount may not affect stringing.
Remember these settings are not cast in stone 😉 One of the tribulations of 3d printing is that there are so many variables to consider. 🙂

Yep, I'll try it a little (0.3).
Thanks for the support Rob 🙂

Re: eSUN PETG INI for Slic3r on MK3 ?
Long time since my last update, and here some news.
If you are reading this post, maybe you already know all my issues on PETG, partialliy solved reducing speed, following instructions to print on clean surface with isopropilic alcool, and so one...
Well, now I'm testing a PLA (Silk effect) and seems it's very sensible on my hot room (+enclosure). So I've seen we have an update for the MK3: R3 parts for hotend. I decided to print those and improove cooling.
What does it has to do with PETG?
Simply! I had the surface still dirty with hairspray for my PLA tests, and I didn't want to clean it with alcco isopropilic. The same for the STL to GCODE conversion, using my settings. I've taken directly the Josef's GCODE, without applying any setting for my PETG tests. Same for Z-Offset (that _should_ be slightly different from PLA). ALL was in PLA mode and GCODE take for PETG version.
Result? Fast, clean and perfect
Now, I'm not sure if I'm extremely happy to find out that DEFAULT PETG settings are perfect for my PETG prints or if I'm really sad because seems I didn't understand nothing until today 🙂 Maybe I've started troubleshooting an issue in the wrong way from the beginning.
Actually I'm looking in the GCODE to find out at least what settings I've used different and what had caused my issues.
I wish all nice prints 😉
