Endstop config
I would like to use the x and y endstops for collision detection.
However, if I connect a switch, prusa does not interrupt a gcode move command when triggered.
Do I have to reconfig and rebuild my own fw version, or...?
RE: Endstop config
The Mk3 uses VIRTUAL End Stops...
It doesn't know what mechanical end stops, are...
so they have no effect...
You would need to modify the firmware in order to use the endstops for collision detection.

RE: Endstop config
I know it uses motor torque endstops. I was expecting a more technical answer, as what to edit in config so both motor and limit switches work.
RE: Endstop config
Sorry to dissapoint.!

Ah yes, and Joan, while you are at it: please tell me how to turn lead into gold for my chemistry class.

not entirely true, MK3 firmware uses virtual endstops and torque sensing for homing. but, it is a clone of marlin firmware, and that for sure can handle limit switches and the einsy board for sure has those pins available. so not true. MK3 could handle limit switches only question is how to setup the config so it does use them.
so your statement "It doesn't know what mechanical end stops," is very not true.

Wow Miro - you certainly know a lot more about the Prusa printer than anyone here. Since you are an expert, why can't you figure this out on your own instead of asking know-nothings here how to accomplish what you are want to do? Reading the code to find where Prusa messed up should be child's play for you.
But then if you were so smart, you could have done a little research of your own before insulting people here for trying to help; and you might have realized - or maybe not - that the MK2S firmware has the end stops and you could simply read the manuals for where they connect on the controller board (which isn't an Einsy). So you might then ask: "Wait, do you mean the Einsy doesn't have end stop connections?" And one of these low life know-nothings would say: "Correct."
Then again, I may be just fishing here for fun and using misinformation to help you on your way.
