Einsy RAMBo after firmware update dead

Hey,

Lg,

Lori

hey,

I tried to install my MMU2S last night, I followed the online manual.

Everything went well up to the point firmware update, I downloaded the latest firmware and want to update the printer firmware via slicer, after the upload, the information appears that the data is verified, from 100% progress, the printer should start again Start alone and the new firmware is on it, as far as the theory goes.

Slicer software told me that the update was successful, now the LCD display stayed with me permanently info, shown 100% Verified .... nothing happened anymore, after 30 minutes I decided to try the process again, Slicer has the USB Interface recognized and it could be flashed again, but unfortunately the same result as before LCD Display Info ... 100% Verified but it still got stuck in this mode.

After a few more minutes I disconnected the printer from the network, now the printer does not start after switching on, the Info Prusa Research appears briefly on the display ... and after approx. 3 sec. If the LCD goes dark and can hardly be seen, the text: "Prusa Original Prusa I3 Prusa Research" ... remains.

According to the Prusa homepage, I can't set the board to factory settings either, because I can't get to the menu after switching it on, or it isn't displayed.

The USB connection is no longer recognized, neither in the slicer nor in a terminal mode. The USB is gone.

The support went through the connections and fuse etc. with me, but couldn't find anything that would help me.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be or what I can do?

LG,

Lori

I actually had a similar issue on my MK3S+, which i bought used.

The LCD just showed the initial splashscreen, with the 3 dots instead of the version number, and I had no way to upgrade the FW. I solved it somehow by unplugging the LCD from the Einsy board and attempting to flash it again without it attached, which actually worked flawlessly.

Hope this is helpful, good luck!

Here we go, Support told me it seems Einsy board unserviceable and I had to buy a new one...

@hdesk Thx mate this solved the Prob. BUT ... I had to choose an earlier Firmware Version, and even then I had to unplug both LCD Cable !!

Now Selftest ist Calibrating...

Glad this was helpful!

I don’t even know why it worked by unplugging the LCD, as it wasn’t mentioned anywhere neither on prusa’s website nor the forums.

I just had a hunch thinking that somehow it was interfering with the boot process, and tried without. Hopefully this thread will serve as a resource for anyone else that has this problem in the future
