Einsy RAMBO 1.2b KO

Hello,

Suddenly, my printer refused to heat up the bed and the hotend. After quite some time with Prusa support, it turns out that the Einsy RAMBO 1.2b board is faulty. Is it possible to repair it rather than having to buy a new one? The printer is not even 3 years old. Thank you for your help."

thanks DjeDje

It depends on the nature of the fault:  if just one of the larger components has burned out then anyone competent with a soldering iron should be able to replace it but several small surface mount components would require skill that, as you have asked the question, I guess you don't have.

Thank you for your response.

Yes, I can resolder the most important components, but first, I need to determine which one is not functioning. There are no visible burn marks on the printed circuit board (PCB).

Hello Hello 🙂

Yes, they're all good.

When I plug the PSU directly into the bed, it heats up.

All the thermistors are also good, and with the power panic unplugged, they don't do anything.

U said with the power panic unplugged I'm sure I sure something somewhere where someone had a problem the hotend wouldn't heat with the power panic unplugged on there mk3 does it do the same with power panic plugged in

You will find all the specifications for the Einsy Rambo on Github if you have the tools to troubleshoot a board...

RE:

@Hello : Yes it's the same with and without Power Panic cable. We do all possible test with Prusa Supports. They say that the Einsy board is faulty 🙁 .

@Diem :   I don't have the necessary skills in electronics to identify which electronic component of the PCB is defective.

There's a way to check for shorts using a multimeter you could do that but since it's bed and nozzle it's probably something major so I'd just buy new board

- and even if you did it would probably be more of an intellectual exrcise than a genuine moneysaver.

It’s a pity that you didn’t have this problem a week ago, because Caribou3d.com was selling Einsy Rambo 1.2 boards for only 27.5 Euro. I checked their site now and Einsys are already out of stock. Most likely, Caribou is going out of business or focusing on entirely different products. They have been selling all the spare parts for Prusa/Voron/LDO with 75% of discount and, logically, all the interesting products are gone by now.
