E3D Revo - thermal anomaly / Rambo issue?

Background: I have 3 similar MK3S+. 2 are fully stock. One has the E3D Revo 40W hot end. I like the Revo - nozzle issues are quick and easy to fix.

The Revo printer gives tons of thermal anomaly errors. Yes, I could revert the firmware as a last resort - that's not why I'm posting.

Issue: When printing, the printer throws a Thermal Anomaly error. I'll call this TA.

Steps to reproduce: heat the nozzle to PLA temps (210 °C). Wait a few seconds. Observe error.

Workaround: continue retrying heating until the nozzle exceeds ~125 °C. After that, the TA isn't thrown.

Troubleshooting steps: Captured in this video.

  1. Reset the printer (full factory reset)
  2. Update the firmware (to the proper Revo firmware)
  3. Verify the 40W heater and the thermistor)
  4. Verify thermistor wiring, connections
  5. Verify heater wiring, connections
  6. Verify Revo HeaterCore heater resistance
  7. Verify Revo HeaterCore thermistor resistance
  8. Replace Revo HeaterCore (factory reset)
  9. View Support | Temperatures:
    1. confirm the ambient temp is 23 °C.
    2. confirm I can heat the hotend with a hot air gun and see the temp continuously increase beyond 130 °C

I'm not surprised that changing the HeaterCore does not fix the TA problem because the original HeaterCore electrical performance appears to be correct.

I reviewed the Einsy Rambo schematic. The thermistor input is simply 2 zeners and 2 2K37 resistors. They don't seem to be the problem.

Any thoughts?

I don't really understand your problem
