Do I have MK3S or 3S+ or something different

Hey

I need to order new assembled hotend for my MK3 but I'm unsure which model I acually have. (Blob of death and I damaged the heat sensor wires while removing it.)

I purchased the "Original Prusa i3 MK3 kit" 11/18/2018 and preordered the "Original Prusa i3 MK3 Multi Material 2.0 upgrade kit" 12/28/2018 which if I understand correctly ended up coming with some upgrade parts for the printer also which I think made it into MK3S, but I have no idea if it's the "+" or not.

So which model do I have since all three have diffrent hot ends it seems?

Assuming you have the three wire filament sensor, and the 4 wire Pinda Probe, you have a mk3S. the Mk3S and Mk3s+ have different extruder housings     both use the E3D v6 hot end. the Thermistors  and heaters are the same The Mk3S+ has a 3 wire SPinda and a Red Filament sensor.the PTFE Lengths are different between the Mk3S and Mk3S+

RE:

Don´t know what you did to your extruder when upgrading from 3 to 3s. Anyway, if you arrived at the 3s back then, the difference between the 3s and the 3s+ is the PINDA sensor for the s and the SuperPINDA sensor for the s+, so it won´t make a difference for the extruder; both come with the E3D V6 extruder. For a blob of doom damage it should be sufficient to buy a new thermistor cable and a new heat cartridge for the hotend, a new heater block and potentially a new nozzle and, since you´re at it, a new PTFE tube (unless you still have one in your spare parts). Why would you want to spend money on a new heatsink or a new heatbreak? If you buy a fully assembled heatbreak the ptfe tube is different in length for the 3s and 3s+ which appears to cause different part numbers in the prusa store for the full assembly.

Cheers

I try to give answers to the best of my ability, but I am not a 3D printing pro by any means, and anything you do you do at your own risk. BTW: I have no food for…

I managed to get the blob off with a help of heatgun, but the wirings got exposed and one got cut from the base. Not sure if I could just reinsulate the wires (I guess there has to be tape than can stand the heat) and get the one wire attached back. Havent detached the block so have no idea where the wire that got detached is actually going. My experience with these are limited and was thinking about taking the lazy way out by buing the whole block assembled. Can hold a soldering iron if needed.

Ended up ordering these. Could actually even end up being easier to replace those than the whole thing. Thanks.
