Constant Err: Mintemp, replaced hotend thermistor and checked both for resistance

Good morning,

I recently build the lack enclosure and when I was recalibrating the printer I noticed the thermistor cabled rubbed on the back of the bed where the new wire routing is. It was higher than it should have been, and I didn't catch it. After it rubbed I lost a temp reading for the hot end and got the mintemp error.

I noticed the cable sleeve got damaged so I replaced the thermistor and it hasn't gone away. After changing the thermistor I checked both with my multimeter, and they both showed resistance within spec.

What else could be causing the printer not to see the thermistor?

Cheers,

~Mic

Hi Mic,
Is it possible that you plugged the new thermistor into the wrong socket?  IIRC, there are three sockets together on the controller, the middle one is not used.
Could one of the pins be unseated in the socket? could cause an open circuit and this could make the  display read 0C.
Is it possible that there has been a short circuit between the heater wires and the thermistor wires? (this may have damaged your controller)

if the thermistor connectors are in the correct sockets, you could try briefly swapping the thermistor connectors on the controller. if the problem moves to the other line on the display, the thermistor is suspect.
If the problem stays on the same line on the display, then the controller is suspect

Don't forget to swap the thermistor leads back to their correct locations again. !

If your environment temperature is below 15°C, the printer will throw the Mintemp error too.

Check if the display shows values below 15°C.

Joan,

I know it is in the right socket, I will swap the two and see if the problem follows the thermistor or the socket!

@lichtjaeger The LCD is showing it at 0 degrees as well, which I know shouldn't be the case! The room is sitting around 63-65 degrees F.
