Clogging in top of organic supports
This print has failed 3 times now at around the same point. At first, I thought of heat creep and printed the second one with the (large closet) enclosure opened. That failed too, and as it seems to happen in a very retraction-heavy place of the print, I tried editing the model so that it would need less support at the corners. Now, that failed too (again 10 hours into the print...).
This is with the "0.2 mm Quality" profile, organic supports and "Prusa PLA" (the PM filament Prusa sold before Prusament) on a MK3S. I guess the problem is related to the retractions, and will probably try with classic supports next time. I do however remember having had issues with retraction-heavy prints on this printer before, so it would be nice to get it solved anyway.
Any ideas?
Also, I wonder why the slicer do retractions between non-perimeter-crossing supports, since I think most people won't care about stringing between supports, and it increases the risk of heat creep.
Kind regards,
Mark
RE: Clogging in top of organic supports
I'm experience a very similar issue with my Prusa Mini, failing twice at the same layer, right when a large section of organic supports end.
Have you found any more information about the issue?
RE: Clogging in top of organic supports
I experienced the same issue with organic supports. When I printed multiple objects at once with organic supports, the prints often failed slightly before the interface layers. When I printed only one object at once, then it worked. As Mark has written before, it might be frequent retractions at the organic supports. It would be great if I could deactivate the retractions between organic supports only. Maybe I will print some failed prints again, but completely without retraction...
